FNR recently completed the construction of three standalone homes for Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities at Parkdale Crescent. This project was undertaken with the primary goal of providing social housing, consisting of two 5-bedroom homes and one 4-bedroom home, all built to Kāinga Ora’s strict specifications. To ensure the homes safety and resilience in extreme weather events, floors were elevated above 100-year flood levels. The design and construction were carefully planned to accommodate the needs of large families and provide secure, long-term housing solutions.
In addition to the homes, comprehensive landscaping was completed, which included the installation of garden sheds, high-spec fencing, and plantings to enhance the aesthetic and environmental value of the site. Solar bollard lighting was installed along the JOAL footpath to improve safety and provide energy-efficient illumination. This project demonstrates FNR’s ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable housing solutions that meet both the technical and social needs of the community, while also adhering to the environmental requirements of flood-prone areas. Our work on this project reflects our commitment to Kāinga Ora’s vision for building resilient, safe, and sustainable communities.
